For my first blog, I was instructed to create a story with only 15 shots with the shot styles we learned in class. The shots are supposed to construct a story with my choice of characters and the organization of all the shots together.
The story I decided to tell was a tragic love story between a pouch and a perfume bottle. It started off as an enemies to lovers but has a plot twist at the end to create suspension.
Overall, I think I did a good job of portraying the story I wanted to tell with just 15 shots. Planning out the story took most of my time but I could of been more creative with it. I started off with a pool of ideas and picked the one that I felt I could do best. I think my best shot was the two shot of the characters facing away from each other. It created tension and gave the story an intense emotional tone. For the next time, I could improve by centering the objects better. For example, the low-angle, long shot I took of the pouch falling off the catwalk after him being heartbroken by the perfume could have been more centered. The pouch is not following the rule of thirds making it unpleasant to look at.
